Meeting on Proposed Wolf Season May 22 in Bozeman, Montana

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks will host a public meeting in Bozeman on Tuesday, May 22 to share information and answer questions on the proposed 2012-13 wolf hunting and trapping season. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn-Bozeman (5 East Baxter Lane).

The proposed 2012-13 general wolf hunting season would run from September 1 to February 28, 2013, with trapping allowed from Dec. 15 to the end of the general wolf season (trapping and hunting of wolves is provided for in Montana’s wolf conservation and management plan).

Officials in Texas have adopted rules allowing hunters to use suppressors (often called silencers) on their firearms effective September 1, 2012. Texas has now become one of a growing number of states that allow or are considering allowing suppressed hunting. Arizona just enacted permission for their use in March of 2012.

Lifetime Hunting and Fishing Licenses Up for Consideration in Michigan

If House Bill 5334 is passed into law, Michigan hunters and anglers could purchase individual lifetime licenses for hunting and fishing several different types of species. The proposed lifetime licenses include firearm deer, archery deer, small game, restricted fishing, and all-species fishing. Individual lifetime license fees range from $220 to $285.
