Starting Jan. 1st - residents can now apply online for elk, deer and antelope licenses. This is a departure from previous years when resident applications for these species were only accepted during the month of May.

License section manager Jean Cole said the early application period is for online applications only. "Hunters who wish to submit paper applications for elk, deer and antelope must still wait until the May application period," Cole said. "But, online applications for elk, deer and antelope will be accepted from Jan. 1 through May 31."

"The Game and Fish has extended this application period as a convenience to hunters," Cole said. "It should also help us process applications in a timely manner since elk, deer and antelope applications will be spread out over a longer period of time."

Resident application books are now available at Game and Fish regional offices and license agencies throughout the state. Applications are also available online at:http://gf.state.wy.us

As in previous years, summary maps showing exact seasons and quotas will not be available until the first week of May following setting of seasons by the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission. The commission does not set official seasons and quotas until April, following a series of public season setting meetings throughout the state.

I got mine in along with

I got mine in along with three other guys. We are planning on driving out there pulling our 5th wheel campers for the October 15-21 season for Mule Deer. With the price of gas going the way it is, we might consider doubling up in one of the campers, but that's not our first preference.

This will be my first trip out west for hunting, so I'm really looking forward to it. I can't wait. Oh. yeah - i guess I'll have to, eh?
