The Colorado Wildlife Commission made a change to the 2003 big game regulations at their meeting in Denver Friday.

The regulation change will have an effect on those who have applied, or plan on applying for limited archery and muzzleloader bear licenses in Game Management Units (GMU) 83, 85, 133, 134, 140, 141, 142, 143, 147, and 851 for the 2003 big game season. The approximately 30 licenses available for these GMU’s for both methods of take will not be valid for the Bosque del Oso State Wildlife Area in GMU 851. The change pertains to Hunt Codes “BE083O1A” and “BE083O1M.”

Hunters who draw licenses in these GMU’s will be sent a letter explaining the change.

The oversight occurred when the licenses valid for these GMU’s were converted from “unlimited” to “limited” for the 2003 season. The Division of Wildlife regrets any inconvenience due to the error.
