Ohio Wild Things Art Contest for Kids

Budding young artists age 18 and younger are encouraged to submit their drawings or paintings of animals, birds, bugs, plants or landscapes found in Ohio State Parks for the "Wild Things" Kids' Art Contest. Entries are being accepted now through June 15.

Drawings or paintings in crayons, pencils, pastels, finger-paints, tempera, watercolors or acrylics will be accepted. Paper or cloth collages will also be accepted. Paper or canvas should be no smaller than 3 inches by 5 inches and no larger than 11 inches by 14 inches.

Content categories include furry things; things with wings; blooming things; crawling things; and pretty scenes. Entries will be judged in several age categories.

Winning entries will be featured in the fall-winter issue of Ohio State Parks magazine. All contest entries will be on display this summer at selected state parks. Display dates and locations are available on the Internet at ohiostateparks.org .

The back of each entry must include the child's name, mailing address, age, grade, and the state park that is closest to home. Entries should be mailed to Ohio State Parks Art Contest, 2045 Morse Rd., Bldg. C-3, Columbus OH 43229-6693.
