Nonresident Deer Apps Beginning Accepted

The 2003 Iowa nonresident deer hunter license application period begins May 3. Nonresident hunters wanting an Any-Deer license must apply by June 8. The non-resident deer application is available on the Iowa Department of Natural Resources webpage at, then click on link under reminders/news.

Hunters must call 1-800-367-1188 to apply. If the number of Any-Deer license applications sold exceed the number available, then a drawing will be held to determine which applicants receive licenses. Hunters may check the status of the application online after June 28 at and clicking on wildlife.

Licenses will be mailed to successful applicants in late July. If any license quota for Any-Deer licenses does not fill, those remaining licenses will be sold on a first come, first served basis through the same telephone ordering system.

There are 6,000 Any-Deer licenses available to non residents. There are 2,500 antlerless only licenses available to non-residents. Antlerless only licenses will be available at a later date.

A non-resident any-deer license will total $309.50, plus a nonrefundable application fee.
