Man Fined For Running Down Turkey With Truck

Intentionally running down a wild turkey at the side of the road with a pickup truck cost a 26-year-old Nodaway, Iowa, man $250 in Franklin County Court.

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission Conservation Officer Richard Routh issued the man citations after the incident occurred near the spot where Highway 136 crosses Cottonwood Creek.

The man pleaded guilty in Franklin County Court and was fined $50 for taking a turkey during the closed season, $75 for taking a turkey with a motor vehicle, was fined $26 in court costs and ordered to pay liquidation damages of $100 for killing the bird.
