At their recent meeting, the Fish, Wildlife & Parks Commission adjusted the quotas on resident over the counter mule deer B licenses in Region 7, and resident and non resident whitetail licenses in Region 6.

Originally the second mule deer license was set at a quota of 100, but it has been adjusted now to 2000.

Whitetail tags in Region 6 were changed from 1250 to 1500 for non resident (698 tags), and from 1250 to 2500 for resident (699 tags). The additional whitetail tag for Region 7 changed from 1000 to 2000. When the quotas are met on these additional licenses, they will no longer be available for purchase. The first mule deer license in Region 7 and whitetail single region licenses are unlimited (no quota) and will be available over the counter all season long.

A-9 elk licenses are not valid in Region 5 Hunting Districts 511 and 530 as they have been in the past. The A-9 is a second elk license valid on private and DNRC (state) lands only and only for antlerless elk. It affords a hunter the opportunity to take a cow elk in all hunting districts in Region 4 except 401, 410, 411, 412, 417, 420, 441, 445, 447, 448, and 455.

Hunters may only buy a total of five (5) Antlerless Deer B Licenses this year and they may acquire them through any combination of drawing, over the counter purchase, or purchase of surplus licenses. Surplus licenses will be available the week of August 14th.
