The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has scheduled a bowhunter education class in Lincoln during April and there are still some slots available for those wishing to participate.

Nebraska law states that all persons 12 years of age or older, born on or after Jan. 1, 1977, must have successfully completed a state-certified bowhunter education course before hunting deer, antelope or wild turkey with archery equipment.

The class will be at Raymond Central High School, April 21, 22 and 28, 6:00-9:30 p.m. Students must attend all three sessions to become certified. Preregistration is required.

Classes are open to anyone who will be 11 years of age in this calendar year. There is no maximum age limit for students and no charge for the course. Interested parents of youngsters taking the class are also encouraged to attend. Contact Tiffani Gerber at Game and Parks Commission Headquarters, 471-5558, to register. Information about other outdoor education courses can be found on-line at
