A New York Senate Bill would expand deer and bear hunting opportunities in parts of the state.

Senate Bill 2326, sponsored by Sen. Dale Volker, R-Depew, would allow the use of rifles to hunt deer and bears in southern New York. In all, it would expand hunting opportunities in fourteen counties.

The bill has been approved by the Senate Committee on Environmental Conservation and awaits action in the Senate Rules Committee.
