It sucks that someone that fought so hard for wildlife populations had to die that way. He probably wouldn't have had it any other way though. 

I have heard that cape buffalo are the most dangerous animal to track wounded. Is that true? It seems like going into thick cover after a leopard would be insanely dangerous as well. Come to think of it, any of the big 5 would not be fun to deal with once they are wounded. 

I don't think you can say one animal is more dangerous than another (of the big 5) when wounded.  As you pointed out the leopard is pretty darn dangerouse when wounded and in brush.  There is a YouTube video out there of a wounded lion charging the hunters. The hunter makes a perfect brain shot, but the lion is so close his momentum carries him forward into the hunter knocking the hunter down.

Think about a five hunderd pound beast chock full of muscle and rage bearing down on you.  I can't imagine anything more dangerous than that.  Not taking away from a cape buffalo.  They truly are dangerous, but asking what is more dangerous is a question that has no anwser.  Lots of opinions, but no real answer.

Kind of like asking who is prettier.  Tiffany Lakosky or Miranda Lambert?  Just picked those two because they are both blonde, and both have hunted together.
