I just got one of these cranes, and wanted to vouch for the mfg.'s claims. It's pretty amazing that something so light can be so strong. It appears quite well-made, and should be ideal for lifting a carcass into a truck, trailer or SUV (something I was wondering about how to do in an earlier post).

And, with a 700 capacity (which the mfg. says is conservative) it should be able to pick up pretty much anything we can hunt in the lower 48, no?

Do they make a smaller version? I not lucky enough to get something that big A buffalo or big bull elk is the only thing I can think of were I'm at that is may have a struggle with.

I got the 4' model...they also have a 3' model. For me, anything over 100 lbs. is more than I'd want to lift myself; roughly twice that if I have a lifting partner.

I hope/expect this to make things a lot easier on the back...plus, it's probably easier to skin a carcass once it's held upright, no?
