I know the nose of a whitetail is probably it's best defense mechanism. Does any one know if any of the other deer family members (muleys, antelopes, elk, moose) are better? Also what about sight and hearing? I have heard that moose have bad eye sight.

I'm not an expert but i have heard that deer(whitetail,blacktail,mule) have very comperable sences. so I'm sure there isnt to much of a difference. Antelope have amazing eyesight it would be like looking through a pair of 8 power binos. I would have to hold elk in the same case as deer i think, they have good sight, great hearing and amazing smell. Moose have good hearing but poor sight and great smell. I would really like to hear from an expert to see how close i am here.

Yes, I agree with you here. I have tried to look it up online but there doesn't seem to be any clear cut favorites. One thing it did say is that a bear has the best nose of all.

Yea bears have the best sence
Yea bears have the best sence of smell, I have read to that if an animal has a week sence than the others will work harder to balance out the sences. kinda cool i guess.
