I have a dilemma, ive been deer hunting a few times with no sucess but the place im hunting this year is crawling with deer.
I have a sks rifle and am an excellent shot with it out to 125 yds (thats as far as my local range goes out). I have 2 friends that hunt with the sks and they swear buy it.
I also have an old Enfield .303 that i am also accurate with at 125 yds. It looks like this would have more stopping power than the sks but maybe a bit of overkill.
What do you all think? Any one else here hunt with either of these?
Let me describe where i am hunting at. There is a lot of woods and mountains with creeks crisscrossing them as well as a field that offers shots up to about 200 yds. I will be hunting both. We have spotted lots of deer within 50 to 75 yds of where im putting my stand for the field and i figure the longest shot ill have in the woods is about 60 yds.
Season starts in a month and i need some advice.
Thanks
