I took my 2 boys fishing today for trout, we had fun, my boys are 9 and 3. the day started off slow but after 2 hours they startd catching fish(thank god my 3 year old was getting bored). they each ended up with 10 fish landed, nothing big just 8-10 inch stock trout. I was unable tobring my camera as my wife needed it for a concert her and our daughter went to. but it was fun to spend time with the boys. hopefully i can get them out agin on sunday.
Nothing like fishing or hunting with the little ones. Maybe when were old and in a nursing home our kids will remember days like that.
Yeah no kidding, I hope then they will pass down the outdoor stuff to there kids. More and more kids dont get involved in hunting and fishing but alot of that is the parents fault for not introducing them to it.
Some of it is due to the culture change. I've had some wackos comparing me shooting hogs to someone shooting my mom. "How would you like it if someone shot your mom?" Guess they watched Bambi to much growing up.
Once my little one gets a bit bigger she is going to be out with me a lot.
Taking kids fishing is one of the great joys in life. But as you said the 3 year old was getting bored and that happens with young ones. That is where it is nice if you know of a pond that they can catch a fish on every cast weather his line is close to the bank or a hundred feet out. I remember taking one of my nephews to a pond in Utah years ago. I had more fun just taking the fish off of his hook and rebaiting it that I think that he did casting and reeling them in. He didn't even notice that about 2 of 3 fish got thrown back into the pond just so that I could keep him fishing.
I've been out 3 times this year and yet to catch anything but a buzz. I would be estatic if I would catch an 8'' lol. Glad to see you are getting some casting time in with the kids. I was lucky enough when I was young that my father took me out quit a bit. I remember then I still didn't catch that many fish. Guess that's why I perfer hunting and don't fish to sustain myself
I never catch anything. Thats why I quit fishing.
Well I'm not the only one with bad luck then. I'll go maybe a dozen times a year for fun with friends however not die hard by any means. I would like to try salmon fishing though. Maybe I can find something I might have a little more luck with
I'm gonna go fishing today after work for spring chinook and summer steelhead, they are both hitting really good at my normal fishing hole
I will if i catch anything, it might be to hot today, dont know how well they'll be hitting since its gonna be about 100 degrees today
