I came across this permit while applying for the draw in colorado. I'm aware of the habitat stamp which I got, but I also saw a swa permit. Is this needed along with a habitat stamp to access a colorado swa legally?

Yes, the SWA permit allows
Yes, the SWA permit allows you access to all SWA lands in the state and is in addition to the habitat stamp. I did that 2 years ago for antelope and was not lucky... had everyone and their brother/sister also hovering the property. I don't know if I would ever do it again.

The permit is mainly for a few certain swa that allow camping and boating. Jumbo is one that comes to mind that for camping and boating I am pretty sure you need the permit. Just to access them though simply requires the regular habitat stamp. Also...I I don't believe the permit satisfies the stamp requirement for big game license s

HeavyC we just moved to Greeley off of 35th Ave a few months ago. thanks for the .02 its what got me on the right track to find what i needed.

ok i picked up the rec lands
ok i picked up the rec lands publication at sportsmans warehouse. the SWA pemit pertains to a few SWAs.if you have a hunting or fishing license you dont need the SWA permit. The SWA permit does not take the place of the habitat stamp...everyone has to have a habitat stamp. so if you have a hunting or fishing license and the required habitat stamp your good to go on any SWA.
