Hopefully I'll be moving shortly to the mtn city area and I have some questions about the rut in your area. Since I'm here in Ny are season starts really early and we're already into rifle here. A few of the buck taken in the local area have already shown swollen necks as well as lots of scrape and rub activity. I took a short walk in the woods near my parents new house and really didn't find the sign like I'm used to back here in Ny and where I used to live in NH. The season starts similar to the NH season and I'm wondering about the usual time of the rut and also when the deer start to rub the trees as well as scrapes. Any info will be helpful since I'm trying to get there for the start of the muzzleloader season. It's a bit harder finding tracks in the soil due to the large amounts of clay and getting used to the different types of mast trees is definately going to be an interesting change for me. Thanks for the help. I figured this would be a great way to get some information since I plan on going with my dad who's just recently retired and enjoying the chance to do some hunting in a much warmer climate at long last.
Thanks again,
Scott
