I'm thinking of building a new custom hunter. This may seem a little wierd but I'm thinking of building a 6.5 X 284 for long range hunting. Coyotes, antelope, deer, basically anything I can see through the scope will be the intended quarry. What do you all think. the cartridge is a proven long range performer so accuracy isn't a question. You can buy brass from norma or lapua that is stamped 6.5 X 284. so quality brass isn't an issue. I think a Winchester M70 action (because I have one in the closet that needs a new barrel) with a 9 twist lilja barrel is the ticket. Feedback?
