Well, I had to compete with 28 other trucks last weekend for opening day. So, I have come up with a new plan. I was going to take a week off this month, but now I have decided to spread it out and instead take a day off each week for the whole month. That will let me get out mid-week and not fight the crowds.
So, I willl be headed out Tuesday to try and fill my tag. Wish me luck!

That's the plan that will fill your tag! I don't know about you but if I took an entire week off to hunt, my wife would have way too many things pile up on my to-do list! 
Taking a day off per week should keep it interesting and give you an opportunity to concentrate on a specific area. Go by yourself so you can stay as long as YOU want and only make moves based on YOUR intuitions! EP is a great mid-week spot if you can sit for 3-4 hours! 
I got a couple of text messages this morning while I was in a meeting and the last one just said "Big Forky!" but now the phone goes straight to voicemail!
Hopefully you are dragging or cleaning him!

You will have to accept my apologies ha. I am not out of the stage where every deer is a trophy. Or maybe it is more that I have progressed to that point. Don't get me wrong, I really want to take a big buck or bull every once and a while but meat is meat and it is the memories that are worth more than anything. If you have a good memory of taking a fork-horn than that is what it is all about. Good luck vermonster... I hope you get him!
I hear ya. However, I have only shot 4 deer in my life, and I really, really like the meat. Plus, in San Diego county, the success rate in a good year for rifle is 10%, so any buck becomes a trophy. Plus, these mule deer out here, alot of them actually top out at a forky. Sort of a trait they have here.
