My new gps jsut arrived from Cabela's this morning and I gotta say I love this thing already and I don't know how most of it works yet. I have only used one in the past to get back to the truck on rare occasions as I know my area pretty well. But the old one which only cost a hundred about 5 years ago would take several minutes to lock a few satellites and this one gets them all in about 30 seconds. I picked up an Garmin Oregon 450 for only $250 on sale based on some recommendations here last month.
I plan to use this one to mostly stay on public land on my travels in Wyoming and some areas I have stayed away from that I just wasn't sure of the boundaries. I'm going to order public land maps for it soon and will post as to how well they work when I get them in.
It already went up a hundred bucks still on sale since I ordered it so it looks like I finally did something right for once.
