I got my first buck (forky) and my buddy and his dad got their first bucks (forky and a 4x5).. We got them at the top of "locked gate" trail.

I've only been there the last couple of years. I've got the white dodge ram (with black). It's really a great group of guys. Next year stop by and say hi. I'm looking at getting a 16x20 wall tent from davis for the next season to prevent me from having to sleep on the floor of my buddy's dad's fifth wheel.

Were you guys up by the class A motor home? (not sure how that guy got up there)?!?!?!

ohhh is the gate on the north side of the road or south side? im thinking i know where your talking about. if we're up there next season we'll definately stop in and say hey. i didn't see the motorhome. must've been up there earlier in the week? cuz we were only there the last friday and saturday

I was only there friday through tuesday because of school. Had to make a 1200 mile drive from Michigan instead of the usual 200 mile drive from Denver.... This next year I'll be planning it so I can go up for a week+...

Locked gate is on the right as you go up the road (mile 7 I think). I ended up walking 3 miles to the bottom and 3 miles back up when my sportsman decided to quit running...

It was busy this past year. I hope that quits next year.... We could use a fewer amount of people and a greater amount of animals up there.

good stuff. we haven't been seeing the amount of animals up there that we used to and we're seeing more hunters so i think we're gonna try a different spot next year

did i tell you i'm jealous of your cinnamon bear? i've hunted them for 3 years without getting one. sometimes it's because i didn't see any, sometimes, it's because i didn't see anything mature, but mostly, it's because i REALLY want a color phgase bear!

i also like the left turn bull elk. it's a classy looking mount.

hopefully, mounting them didn't break the bank too bad.

all the previous pics the bear was taken in 08 and the rest of the elk in 09-10.  we see lots of bears in the area we hunt.  unfortunately when we see lots of bears we see fewer elk .  bears like hot and dry elk seem to e more active when it is cooler
