Where are all the California hunters?

Hey...first, welcome to the forum.

As far as pigs go, I'm not sure how much help I'll be, as I'm new to pig hunting as well. Have you looked at the DFG's online booklet about pigs/boars? It has some useful information.

Pigs are all over this state; the trick seems to be finding them where (1) it's OK to hunt, (2) it's accessible, and (3) you're not competing with too many other hunters. I've heard that Fort Hunter Liggett and Camp Roberts are good mid-state places to start. The area around Lake Berryessa is supposed to be good, too. Further north, the coastal areas have some good spots.

I hope to have some more useful information in a few weeks; if I do, I'll likely put it in the pig forum. You might want to check there at some time. Good luck...

ok guys i saw this post and i thought i should say i was down in los padres this past weekend and boy was i dispointed, my buddie and i didnt see one turkey or pig. we did a few deer a cayot on the base. there where lots of pig tracks but no pigs. may be we where doing something wrong. the terain is really hilly prepare to do a lot of hiking
