If you can find a rabbit in this state chances are it is in the mouth or belly of a damn Coyote. The one area in Western Washington, I have seen alot of rabbits in is the Skookumchuck GMU I think it is GMU 667 but look it up. Their is a pheasant release site that borders some marsh land out on the skookumchuck on Johnson Creek RD., it is open to small game hunting also, hunting hours are 9:00am to 4:00pm, seen quite a few rabbits back in that area.

we ran our hounds out on fort lewis for rabbits and had really good luck three a day. all you have to do is go to the advinture center and watch a video on hunting safty and you on you way.

You should make a trip out here if you want lots of rabbits,every old ranch out in the open country is overun with cottontails.Anywhere you see grain silos or old structures is a sure bet for rabbits out here.

No hounds, just the "dogs" attached to the bottom of my legs. Foot Power. Looking for someplace to walk in, not afraid of a little distance to cover. Maybe even a place to bike in, and then ditch the bike to hunt from foot. Any ideas you have would be great, thank you.

Fort Lewis is swarming with rabbits.
My shop is about 8 miles south east. That whole stretch of land is loaded with the little short eared, white tailed critters.
Where there are rabbits. You'll find coyotes close behind.
Check with the Fort before you go out blasting up the area. There are some restrictions and plenty of private property.

OK guys, thanks for the info. I may look into the Fort, did notice a few years back a few bunnies along the Skookumchuck, but forgot about them. Most bird chasers with dogs down there, I am surprised there are many bunnies left after the pheasant shoot down there. How about any areas east of the mountains for the winter hunt? I did try north of Selah once, but had no luck.

We got tons of rabbits here in NE Washington.....I mean TONS. Well about 25% cottontails and 75% Snowshoes but hey they are all fun to shoot not too good on the eating end of things but hey if you want to.....go for it. The Colville National forest is crawling with them. We damn near have to beat them outa th bushes when we go huckleberry picking. Gr8 fun for kids to go out plinking though.
