Well back to civilazation after 9 days in the mountains. we all had a great time. The weather was the craziest I have seen in many a yerars of hunting. High winds rain, snow, sleet all at the same time at times. We got a total of 16" of snow at camp and near the top od the mountain there was around 22". We had two huge trees fall within 100' of the tents...pretty crazy to hear them fall in the middle of the night just wondering where the next one will fall. I beleive the weather really holed up all the animals for the first 4 days of the hunt and after that we started to see more and more fresh tracks in the snow. For some reason I just kept coming across the animals with no horns. I saw around 30 or so does and not a buck in the group. I did chase a bull a for 2 hours thru heavy timber and ravines intil it got dark and had to head back to camp. my buddy did mange to harvest a broken off 6x3 on Wedsenday....I have no pics.....maybe he will send me some.
All in all as always it was a great time to be in the woods and I have no regrets about not getting my elk or deer this year..there is always next year.
Instead of flooding the forum with all my pictures I just opened a photo album title Elk Hunting 2010. So head there to see some of the pictures I took....more to follow.
