Illinois gun season question

I have read the regs over and over, and it is not clear as to weather I can take my muzzle loader or pistol out during the first gun season that starts tomorrow. I am typically an archery hunter, but figured that I would try my hand with my blackpowder (50 cal), or 44 mag (pistol). Is is legal to take either of these for first season

Thanks in advance for clearing this for me

Illinois gun season question

I was under the impression that you could carry any of the three out during firearms season. If you check page 2 of the IL Hunting Regs Book it says the Firearm Season with dates is Nov. 18-20 and Dec. 1-4 (shotgun, muzzleloader, and handgun). Also if you go to page 10, look under the section titled Sidearms and Rifle Regs., it says "However more than one firearm may be possessed by a deer hunter privided it is lawful for the season". Also read the Legal Firearms section of page 10. I would advise checking with IDNR by calling the reginal office in Alton at (618)462-1181. I hope that helps out.

Good luck with the season!
