Gotta go ya'll, Ivan is coming right at us.

Predicted landfall for Ivan isn't looking good for us at all. If it doesn't go one way or the other we looked to be either in the eyewall landfall or relly close to it. I live about 14 miles west of Biloxi. Have a lot of getting ready to do so probably won't talk to ya'll until it is over. Say a prayer for us. God Bless.

The Beast is coming !!!!

Good luck SJ.
I live about 140 miles east of you guys and still waiting to see exactly where this thing is going. It wont take much of a jog and it'll be right on top of us.

Too bad it cant come ashore in some unpopulated area but with all the development on the coastal areas that aint gonna happen. Someone is gonna get hit and hit hard.
Hunker down and keep safe.

This looks like it is going to be a direct hit on us pretty much. Leaving this evening around 4pm. Hope the home is here when we get back. God Bless.

I'm in the middle of Alabama right now, planning on hitting the road home first thing tomorrow morning. Saw a pathetic sight today -- guys with 3 or 4 pickups and SUVs with out of state plates parked and visiting. Each was loaded with generators and 5 gal cans of gasoline, and had pre-made signs on their vehicles offering generators for sale. Obviously they're waiting out the storm inland, and then will head South as soon as the storm passes in order to sell their wares at outrageous prices. What parasites -- profiting off of human misery.

Natural disasters may bring out the best in people, but they sure bring out the worst, too.

Whew that was sooooooo close. We were all braced for tremendous property damage possibilites and Ivan cut a hard right just a few miles before landfall which caused the storm eye to make landfall about 100 miles to the east of us and put us on the NW side of the storm which is the best place to be if you have to be in it at all. My prayers goes out to Gulf Shores FL. They got hit hard. We had no damage with just a few trees i the area down and quite a few limbs but we exscape a really close call. Praise God. Thanks ya'll for the Prayers, there's no doubt in my mind that they made the difference.

Great to hear you came thru OK SJ.
We, on the other hand, had kinda a bad time here. I still have not been able to contact my brother in Pensacola. He lives about a block from Baptist Hospital which sustained alot of damage.

Overall I, personally, came thru with no damage from the storm. Just some limbs and such to rake up . Others here were not as fortunate though. My Girlfriends' Son and his family lives in her house in Ft. Walton Bch and still has no Power and looks like they wont for several weeks. Her daughter also lives in Ft. Walton Bch and she also has no power. Both have several small children and a newborn.

Tornadoes were our biggest problem here. More than a dozen of them touched down in my county. 2 people dead here from them and 5 dead in the next county up from us. They just trained in one after the other for about 4 hours following a spiral feeder band. I am sure many of you have seen on CNN and MSNBC the one caught on the "Tower Cam" of one of the local TV stations during a live wheather broadcast. That one killed 1 person.

Now its time to say a prayer for those in Mobile AL. and Pensacola FL.
