Used to watch Jai Alai at the
Used to watch Jai Alai at the old MGM Casino in Reno back when I was book learnin at UNR a thousand years ago. Couldn't remember a name if a gun was at my head (probably couldn't pronounce it anyway - most were Basque or south American). Was a blast to watch even though after the 4th or 5th bourbon & water trying to follow that little round missile was next to impossible.

Is it actually legal now? Last I heard, it was only legal in 2 states, I think Hawaii and Florida. But, that was 25 years ago.....

Never heard that it was illegal - just not well attended. MGM carried for 8 - 10 years as I recall. There were a few times when other than the 2 or three of us there the place was empty but for the cocktail waitresses. Can't imagine why it'd be illegal except for the gambling aspect to it - not a problem in NV.

I did see one game when I was a kid visiting relatives in Fl. Can't say I remember any players.
