eating spring bears

can anyone tell me if spring bears are edible.I've heard they weren't because of parasites. is that true?

I've eaten bear meat from a spring-killed bear and it was fine. All bear meat carries the possibility of parasites, just the same as pork. You simply have to be sure to cook it adequately. That will kill the parasites.

I've never eaten spring bear... only fall... delicious! just needs to be cooked properly.

eating spring bears

Spring bear is the best as it is really tender from laying around. Fall bear are good if you get one after berry season. I eat bear all the time and it is my favorite meat to eat out of wild game.
Its almost time for spring bear to start. Have my bait just waiting for the opening day of April 15th.
