The legislature passed a law
The legislature passed a law allowing Board of Game set them up in areas where the ungulate populations are low. They vary depending on the area and the specific problem. In the unit I live in the moose have been all but wiped out over the past 15 years. After the local bio's did their studies they determined it caused by wolves, black bear, and brown bear. They issue various types permits to residents. in this unit they have air born wolf hunting for residents and ADFG people. You can get a permit to run up to four black bear bait stations and take any black bear with no limit, we also have an experimental black bear snaring season. Residents and non-resident are allowed to get two brown bears a year.

Wow... that is some pretty
Wow... that is some pretty liberal seasons. Hopefully it will help your game pops recover. Plus it allows you some extra hunting opportunities.
