I have been using the x-project EXC and I love it ! Not only does it have the gun scabbard, but it also has the bow carrier also. I use it for everything from antler hunting to elk hunting and everything in between. It is a wonderful back and one more thing it holds my Remington Sendero with everything on it including my bipods.

Thanks for the info, that's what I needed to know as I was afraid it wouldn't fit a rifle with that long of a barrel or even with a bi-pod. That's great.

I use the Just one pack from Eberlestock.  I used it when I packed out my Cow last year.  It fit two hind quarters in the pack along with my rifle.  You have to make sure you use the compression straps right to make sure the load is compressed to your back tight.  When you do it right it makes it very difficult to get your rifle out of the scabbard.  If you don't the 5 inch pocket between your back and the load makes for a very unstable load.  I figured it out the hard way but finally got the load tied down right and it wasn’t a problem taking both quarters out.  I love my Eberlestock and use it for all my trips now.
