The season started sat, april 9th and ends on the 7th of may (on a sat). you have 4 sats left, and any day, but sunday in between.

Where do you do your turkey hunting?

I was actually on one of our SC properties last Saturday (4/9). It was so windy, I don't think anything even heard me! When the wind wasn't howling, the skeeters ate me alive!

This week end should be much better!

You'll never get one if you sleep in!

I'm planning on trying my beginners luck this Sat. Hopefully I bag something.

Shooting time is 30 minutes before sunrise. I like listen from high ground near a roosting area at least 30 minutes before that. That way I can hear them on the roost and have some cover of darkness to set up.

You can't beat being in the woods at that time of day. Everything comes alive and when a turkey gobbles close to you, there is nothing better!

I have a couple of properties in person county near durham county I can hunt. Person is one of the best counties for turkey in N.c. You need to find someone who'll let you hunt in person, caswell, rockingham, or orange county. There is a game land in person called hyco game land that is good for public land. I haven't been there, but have heard alot about it. You don't have to have a special permit on this gameland. Good luck!!!

I'll check out hyco. You're right, there'snothinglike being in the woods at sunrise. First you hear the birds, then the small ground critters. It's great. I love being about 30 fet up my climber, watching the woods come alive, almost like you are getting to watch a movie that was made just for you.
