We just got back from Tn and I wanted to share some of the pics and say thanks to Tnhoundsman for another great adventure......Thanks man.
The first day we weren't able to get a track started but we found out late in the afternoon from a TWRA officer that we were not alone. He said that he had only heard of 2 bears taken that day and that everyone else's day was like ours. The second day was a lot different. Mike (ruttinnstruttin) and I were posted on the top of a mountain while George (pyscowolverine) and Jeff (Tnhoundsman) packed the hounds up the mountain to try and strike a track on foot. While we were waiting to see if Jeff could find a track to release on someone called Jeff on the radio to invite us to hunt with thier group. The man was about to release on a bear track so of coarse we were interested. Mike and I stayed right where we were and we heard the dogs down below. It was exciting as it always is but on this hunt Mike and I were able to listen to the dogs work those bears for a couple of hours. The race came close to us several times and we heard the shots that finished both of them. There were 2 bears being run in front of us and another bear race going on behind us!
In the afternoon we repositioned and the guys released thier dogs at the bottom of the mountain and they chased that bear up toward us. We jocked ourselves (and more dogs) as close as we could to the pack but the dogs couldn't stop that bear. Jeff had his hounds which we packed in to the mountain and when we got close to the dogs that were on the bear we released his to help them. The bear went up the tree less than 10 minutes later. One group of guys went down the ridge to the left and we went down the ridge to the right. A couple of minutes into the hike down we heard the shots and it was over............WHAT A BLAST!!!!!
It really is an adventure every time.
Hope you enjoy the pics.
