.444 Marlan Load

My dad owns a .444 Marlan and has just shot the factory loaded ammo for the past 20 years. I know that there would be a way to maximize the effectiveness of the rifle though. The factory bullet has a very thin jacket and a lot of lead exposed. It opens violently and quickly. It is by no means the best elk bullet.

Does anyone load for the .444 and what do you do?

Most if not all the loads for

Most if not all the loads for the .444 Marlin are designed for pistol bullets and that is why there is a lot of lead exposed.  If you want to try a reload Barnes has a couple on their site.

You might also want to check out Hornady for bullets
