While Tracking Deer Use Hydrogen Peroxide

A spray bottle filled with Hydrogen Peroxide is a good tool to have when tracking a wounded deer. When the blood gets sparse or to determine if it is actually blood you're looking at, spray the Peroxide in the area in question. The Proxide will foam up as it reacts with the blood leaving no doubt if you are on the right path to finding your deer. It also doubles as a cleansing agent for wounds you may encounter in the field.

Seems like a good idea, but I

Seems like a good idea, but I would think that if there was enough blood to cause a reaction, then there would be enough blood to see it with the naked eye.

Still might try it, but it's the little specks that would be hard to see.

Thanks for the tip.

I’ve heard of using Hydrogen Peroxide before, but never tried it.  Thanks for the tip.

I always carry a little

I always carry a little bottle in my first aide kit so I'll have to try it next time I'm tracking one. If it works on CSI its gotta work in the woods lol.

It works, you don’t have to

It works, you don’t have to carry it around with you during the hunt.  I keep it in the truck and I grab it for tracking only when I need it.  It is also handy to keep on hand to clean out the cuts you might give yourself after you’re done field dressing your animal or for the kids scrapes and cuts from playing in the woods.

Works great but kinda a pain

Does it work on all animals?

Does it work on all animals? Lot of times I wish I had something when crawling around the brush looking a trail of a shot bear.

I have never though of that one but I can see where it would work.
