Scent Cover

I used this all last year and had deer all around and they didn't smell me. I use a 30 gallon plastic tote to store my clothes in, and put a cedar scent in it to make my clothes smell like cedar. It's normally used to put in the closet to keep your clothes fresh, and to keep moths off, but perfect for scent cover.

That’s a great idea if you hunt in the cedar woods.

We don’t have a lot of cedar trees here in New York so I’m not sure that it would be the most effective cover scent in the world, but I do use the plastic storage totes to keep my hunting gear from soaking up smells from within the house all year.  What I do is seal them in with an open box of baking soda to soak up any scent of plastic or detergent.

Good tip.  I do virtually the same thing but I use pine branches as we don't have many cedars in my neck of the woods.

You can put any type of odor

You can put any type of odor bearing tree branch into the tote.  It wouldn't work too well to have cedar in it where there are no cedar trees.
