Multi Purpose Dryer Sheet
I often use fresh earth dryer sheets while drying my clothes, after washing them in scent free soap. At some point I started putting these dryer sheets in the plastic tubs that I store my hunting clothes in. This seems to work very will. Anytime I pull my clothes out of the box they reek of fresh earth.
I'm too tight to be buying a bunch of scent loc, which I don't believe in. So this is a good and cheap alternative. I like it so much I even toss one in my backpack to help cover the smell of my food and other gear. Its not fail proof (nothing is) but if you do this and bath in scent free soap (as I do) you will find yourself spooking fewer game and harvesting more bucks/bulls/coyotes.
Try it out this season and see if it works for you.

This is another good tip and after I read it the first time I actually went to town looking for these things. I bought one pack since they were on clearance anyway and have to say I'm pretty impressed with the way they smell.
I have to say though that the number one thing will always be watching the wind no matter what else you are using.
could you use just plain dirt?
Instead of buying dirt scented dryer sheets (or anything else), could you use just plain dirt?
What about throwing an armload of dry leaves in your gear bag to make the clothes there-in 'leaf scented' ?
Would that be a viable option?
good stuff, I use all that
good stuff, I use all that stuff before i go and in the field
I agree. Use the soaps, cover
I agree. Use the soaps, cover scents, detergents for your clothes and be vigilant in this and it works just as good if not better than the scent loc stuff.
Tip
Thats a great tip I will have to keep them sheets around!
Thanks for the tip, how has
Thanks for the tip, how has it worked out for you so far?
Its worked great for me for
Its worked great for me for the last several years. I put a lot of time in my tree stand bow, muzzleloader, and rifle hunting. I can count on 1 hand the number of times Ive been busted in the last 3 years. Keep in mind thats hundreds of encounters with deer and includes at least 3 bucks taken under 25 yards. If you go the extra mile with scent control it pays off when your in the woods.
