I have been using the same treestand location for the past 6 years with outstanding success, normally two deer a year. Its all I need for my freezer. I have found that when fall comes and its time to trim shooting lanes and clear fresh brush, I leave it around the stand. Branches I cut and just let fall far enough to clear the lane. This allows me to gain extra camouflage by using natural cover. Doing this in late August, by October, I can barely see my stand, and I know where it is. Give it a try.
