Wyoming Antelope Hunt
Dave Fisher
I shot this goat in North East Wyoming, October 2006. He was taken with a Remington .270, 130 gr accu tip at 237 yards.
2007 Colorado Turkey Hunt
Jeff McKinney aka Hiker
Cort, Brett and I had a great time hunting Colorado Merriams. Cort & Brett have been hunting them together for a few years now and have the fever. They've been telling me for a while now what a "kick in the pants" hunting turkey is, so Big Game hunting Hiker decided to give it a try. Man were those two correct, we had a blast.
New York Buck
Kyren Gardner
It was the night of November 30th as I tossed and turned to the thoughts of hunting season diminishing to the required studying dedication of finals week. With an unfilled New York buck tag, I promptly decided around 2:30 a.m. to skip Friday's classes with one last attempt to bag my buck.
Josh's First Deer
Kent Gillis
I've hunted for years and taken many deer but no tropy of mine compared to the thrill of my son, Josh, taking his first deer. I like to say he's a chip off the old block. The great thing is I have a 10 yr old and I get to experience it all over again. Do yourself a favor and get your children in the woods!!
Kent's Old Tom
Kent Gillis
On the 2nd day of the 2004 North Carolina turkey season, I called this old boy right in to me. I nearly set up to close, but when the sun started coming up he gobbled a couple of times and when I called back a couple of times he flew down only a couple of feet away. As you can see that wasn't very smart on his part! He weighed in at 20 lbs 10 inch beard 1 1/4 spurs.
Big Game is Big Game
Doug McKee
Now I know what you guys are going to say, "This is a big game magazine not a fishing magazine", so why is this fool sending in a photo of what are basically minnows. Notice that I'm in a wet suit and I am not carrying a fishing rod, okay?
The Giants of Last Day Lake
John Hutchins, edited by BGH
This is the story of my trip to Alaska where I hunted moose and brown bear with George Siavelis of Aniak Alaska. In late August of 1995, I flew to Aniak via Anchorage. In Aniak, I was met by one of George's associates who placed me on a float plane flight into the wilderness of Alaska. After the plane landed on an unnamed lake I met George face to face and our hunting adventure began.
What a Day!
Mike Waters
November 4th, 2001 was a day that my son, my brother and I will not soon forget! In fact it's a story that will probably be passed on generation after generation in our family.
A Perfect Morning
Mike Poitras
It was the morning of Dec 22, 2003, I got to my treestand location at 6:30 am and climbed up into it as quietly as possible.
First Elk Hunt
Jim Blaine
This was my first Elk hunt; as well as, my first trip to Colorado. Blaine had hunted elk for around 20 years and had about 15 elk to his credit. So with Larry and Blaine's help I had high expectations to get my first elk. The day before opening season, I met Larry and Blaine and that evening we watched elk wander through the valley where we would be hunting over the next few days. Blaine had been there two days prior and had visited the area before and said they had seen quite a few elk.
