Hog Hunting With Old Friends ndemiter My friendship with Brad began when we were both beginning college. It was in both our natures to have total wanderlust and travel the world and hunt everything that came across our paths. We met on an internet hunting website when the idea was still fledgling and we decided to get together and hunt some stuff. |

Texas Sandhill Crane Hunt hunter25 Last year when we were heading back home from south Texas we noticed a lot of sandhill cranes along the highway in the panhandle area. At that time we commented on how cool it might be to hunt birds as big as some of the animals we chase. After getting home as usual I started looking for a new place to hunt hogs and maybe a deer hunt for the next year in Texas. We have gone for hogs twice now but have never been really satisfied with the service received on these ranches. |

Family Deer Hunt in Texas Wade I posted earlier about my first whitetail but decided to tell the whole story. After years of thinking about it I finally decided to book a hunt for whitetail in Texas. After months of searching the internet for a good deal I booked a 3 day management hunt in Childress Texas. This would be a first whitetail hunt for my son and I and a return for my dad after 25 years. |

West Texas Big Buck James R. Jones A number of years ago, I had access to a fine piece of real estate outside of Dell City, Texas. My brother-in-law, “Uncle Joe” managed an isolated 20,000 acre ranch for a close friend who lived in Dallas. Dell City seats about 90 miles East of El Paso right on the Texas/ New Mexico state line. Joe's ranch was just across the New Mexico line. Me and my family spent many a weekend at the ranch. It was a great weekend get-away from the city life. I soon had a good feel for the lay of the land. I was always on the scout. |

Highs and Lows in Texas Gatorfan Several years ago, 2006 to be exact, I was invited by my father-in-law to go hunt on one of his friend’s trophy whitetail ranch in South Texas. He was barely finished asking before I emphatically said yes! I immediately started having visions of all the “Bucks of Tecomate” and other whitetail hunting shows I had watched on TV and the anticipation of me actually getting a chance at a monster whitetail. That vision was quickly erased when he continued with the plan; we were going to go to the ranch and cull does, hunt quail and javelina, and maybe get a chance at a pig. |

Texas Trophy Deer Hunt Glenn Roberts If you want to hear a crazy story just listen to this. I was in my ground blind on opening day in Texas November 1, 2008 when this guy came out around 6:30 a.m. and came to my feeder where there were already several does and a small buck. He paid no attention to any of them and started to eat corn and nibble on raspberry flavered blocks. I can't say why I didn't shoot him right away, maybe temporarily insane. |

Julie and Tom's Texas Pig Hunt R. Tom Swezey When Julie, my wife, over heard me talking with a hunting buddy about going hog hunting in Texas she expressed an interest in going also. Julie bird hunts with me all the time but never expressed an interest in bigger game. I jumped at the chance to get her ready for our Texas hog hunt. Since most of my rifles carry a pretty stout kick I decided to do some research and come up with a new 'outfit' for Julie's first hog hunt. |

Donny's Texas 8 Point Don Isenberg It was early morning November 20, 2004 and one of the first mornings to be really cool. My buddy Rusty got up as usual at 445am, for coffee and a sweet roll. I was having a hard time getting up and was taking flack from him. About every 5 or 10 minutes he would say get up, lets go, this is the morning and being tired and moving slow I started to get up. We had been talking the night before around the camp fire about sitting in the stand together in case we saw a couple of does to ambush. About 605am, we headed out to the stand, driving part way and walking the rest. |

Texas Bow Hunt Success Korey Ferguson This is my first buck with a bow taken on the Pitchfork Ranch in Guthrie, Texas. I got in the stand about 3:30 in the afternoon and was only there for about 5 minutes when a spike walked up and following him was this nice eight pointer. |

Texas Bull Elk Rusty D. Harvey Sunday morning November 21, I hunted the morning hunt and don't see much at all. It was damp and foggy and the deer just weren't moving so I head back to camp around 9:30am. I always hate Sunday morning after the morning hunt because all of my buddies and myself are packing up to leave. However this Sunday is different because I'm on vacation all week for Thanksgiving and will stay and hunt......11am, the rain comes....... |
