Mr. Crabclaw

I will never forget the image of this big guy walking out of the woods, but it all started about a month ago. I set up my trail camera in one of the spots that I planned to hunt and boy was I surprised! I got a perfect shot of this 12 point buck on my family farm. He's the biggest one we have seen in years. I joked around saying that this was the deer I was going to take this season, but to my surprise, I really did.

What Ever Happened to the Love of the Hunt?
Brett Homer

Now-a-days when someone mentions deer hunting, most thoughts will automatically think big bucks. It seems the days of being excited about just shooting "a deer" is left to being only good enough for our youth. Back in the day, I personally remember it used to be that when hunters gathered together at the end of the day’s hunt.

Deer Hunting Success in Pike County Illinois
Josh Pawson
I have been hunting for 8 years and have taken some nice deer, for instance in 2008 I shot a 145 in. 10 pointer with my bow but this one really made my 2009 season. I had made up mind that I was going sit all day in my stand for the first time. Usually I come out of the woods about 10:30 am but I had a hunch that if I remained patient something big would come out especially since anything can happen during the rut.
Fantastic Illinois Deer Hunt
Dan Nations
I went hunting with my brother – Doug Nations - in Western Illinois (near Moline, IL) the first week of November. We were a little early for the rut and didn't see much. I had to go back home to Arizona and since he lives in Moline, he got to stay (The Lucky Rascal) and continued to hunt the next week which was prime time for the rut. He saw many deer on the morning of November 13th, many bucks chasing does and he bagged this one with his bow at 15 yards.
Korean Pheasant Hunt
Elisse & Dan Clark
My husband and I hunted pheasant recently (March 2008) on Jeju Island, in Korea! Dan is US Army Retired, and had told me how he had hunted there when he was stationed in Korea many years ago... back when Jeju (or Cheju as it is sometimes spelled) was basically wilderness... Jeju Island is now a vacation paradise of 5-star resorts, but there is still hunting (even for foreign tourists!) at the Daeyoo Land Hunting Preserve! I was planning our very belated "Honeymoon" in Asia, and I was determined to finally get to go hunting with my husband!
Illinois 16 Point Buck
Ron Smith
Opening morning of the 2007 Illinois shotgun season would be a test in patience for my 18 year old son, Joe Smith. Joe would be hunting an out-of-the way finger of timber surrounded by cut corn known simply as the curve. A handful of nice bucks had been shot on the property by my Uncle, Steve Hayworth, but when I scouted the property in October of 2007 during bowhunting I was skeptical.
