Two Years in the Taking
Earl Garrison III

Back in the Summer of 2009  I was going to be hunting a City wide area hunt that happens every two years. It was Hot Mid summer time, and I set my feeder up early. I Wanted to get the deer coming to the feeder well before season. I set my Bushnell game camera up to watch what was coming in to eat. For weeks I pulled the chips from my camera and watched Doe after Doe feeding. Most of them coming in around 10am, and just before dark.

Arkansas Double-Bearded Tom
Scott Pettit
My morning started out the same as the past mornings in south Arkansas. No birds gobbling at daylight, so I sat listening. Not a sound in ear range for more than two hours. Trying all the calls in my pack with my alum slate in hand. There he was 300 yards away talking back, then 200 yards.
Arkansas Youth Deer Hunt
Paulette Sullivent
Matt Vaughan, age 12 of Camden, Arkansas, killed this 6 point, Nov. 15, 2008, in Ouachita County, Arkansas. He killed it at 200 yds with a 30-30. Matt has been hunting for with his dad for several years. He was hunting by himself when he shot this deer.
Arkansas Youth Deer Hunting Success
Robert Gurley
My stepdad Scott, my brother Daniel, my neighbor Robert and I were driving to our deer stands in Athens Arkansas. Scott saw a deer. I couldn't see it. It got up and ran off. We got out of the truck and walked into the woods to take a look. Scott turned to walk back to the truck. Another deer stood up to see what was going on. I could see that it was a buck.
My First 25th Hour Black Bear
Granville E. Moad Jr. "Mac"
I left my house already tired but excited at 4:00 am Saturday the 20th of September, headed for my buddy Brad's house in Booneville, Arkansas. I couldn't sleep the night before so I spent most of the night watching Buckmaster deer hunting videos. The 4-wheeler, the climbing stand, the bow, and backpack was loaded in the truck and as my drive ahead was about 1 1/2 hours, I kept thinking "today feels good."
Korean Pheasant Hunt
Elisse & Dan Clark
My husband and I hunted pheasant recently (March 2008) on Jeju Island, in Korea! Dan is US Army Retired, and had told me how he had hunted there when he was stationed in Korea many years ago... back when Jeju (or Cheju as it is sometimes spelled) was basically wilderness... Jeju Island is now a vacation paradise of 5-star resorts, but there is still hunting (even for foreign tourists!) at the Daeyoo Land Hunting Preserve! I was planning our very belated "Honeymoon" in Asia, and I was determined to finally get to go hunting with my husband!
The Old Man and the Hound
Norm 'Leep' Leeper Jr.
Jack drove his old jeep down the dirt road carefully. Since no one lived along this road anymore but old Tom, the highway department seldom serviced it. He guessed it didn't really matter much as old Tom didn't drive much anymore. Perhaps once a month when his retirement check came in. Then he would come into town driving that old rickety truck and cash his check, buy some groceries and collect his mail.
