Texas Bow Hunt Success
Korey Ferguson
This is my first buck with a bow taken on the Pitchfork Ranch in Guthrie, Texas. I got in the stand about 3:30 in the afternoon and was only there for about 5 minutes when a spike walked up and following him was this nice eight pointer.
New Mexico Elk Hunt
John Olivas
We hunted elk in New Mexico and ended up taking this bull at approximately 7:00am on September 18th, 2001. We had hunted two full days and had the pleasure of hearing a couple dozen bull. There was lots of action, but getting close seemed to be the biggest challenge.
First Elk Bow Hunt
Dave Nolan
After rifle hunting the giant Roosevelt Elk in the Olympic Peninsula region of Washington State for years, with reasonable success, a friend of mine, a local hunting and fishing guide, suggested that if I would like to hunt with him, I would have to switch to archery.
Rainy Day Buck
Wayne E. Helland Jr.
It started out during late July of 2004 with a buck sighting by my dad (Wayne Sr.) Dad was visiting with us one evening and left shortly before dark. After a few minutes he was back telling me of an extremely large buck he had seen. His exact words were, "This buck was huge! He was in the middle of the field and I could see his rack with my naked eye and it looked like he had a lot of points."
Thank You Northwest Wind
Wayne E. Helland Jr.
The morning of Wednesday, 10/17/01 dawned cool and crisp. I checked the weather channel to determine my hunting strategy. The wind was blowing from the northwest at last! This was the opportunity I had been waiting for.
