Wyoming Preference Point Letters
Wyoming Game and Fish

Posted on: 05/25/07 [Comments?]

After receiving their moose and bighorn sheep refund check, many hunters contacted the Wyoming Game and Fish Department looking for their preference point totals that are usually printed on the check stub.

With the preference point purchase period being changed to July - September, the Game and Fish has opted to send all applicants who have accrued preference points a letter at the end of the year with their preference point totals through 2007.

Residents can accrue preference points for moose and bighorn sheep. Nonresidents can for moose, bighorn sheep, elk, deer and antelope.

Seventy-five percent of the quota for these species are issued to applicants with the most preference points.

Ty Grogan of Pennsylvania was archery hunting with his Dad (Jason Grogan) in Allegheny County. Ty shot the 11 point buck from 28 yards away with his bow and arrow. It was only his second day hunting and on top of that it was his 11th birthday.
