Wyoming GFD Seeking Help in Poachings
Wyoming Game and Fish Dept.

Posted on: 01/21/09 [Comments?]

Four pronghorn antelope and two deer were poached in separate incidents and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department is asking the public for information to solve both cases.

Baggs Game Warden Ron Iverson has collected evidence at both crime scenes, but believes someone may have witnessed the poaching or may have information to help solve the cases.

"On the night of Dec.15 or early on the morning of Dec. 16, four antelope, two does and two bucks, were shot and left 15 miles south of Wamsutter on the Wamsutter/Dad Road," Iversen said. "In addition, sometime on Dec. 20 or early on the morning of Dec. 21, two doe mule deer were shot and left on the dump road, four miles west of Baggs."

Evidence was collected at both crime scenes, but the Game and Fish is hoping someone saw something in those areas, maybe a person, a group of people or vehicle, and that information might relate to one or both of these poaching cases.

Anyone with information about these or any wildlife violations should call the Baggs game warden at 307-383-2160, or the STOP Poaching Hotline at 1-877-WGFD TIP (943-3847). Reports can also be made on-line at the web site: gf.state.wy.us/wildlife/enforcement/stoppoaching/submittip.aspx

Calls are kept confidential and a cash reward may be awarded with the successful arrest of the wildlife violators.

Arizona Youth Turkey Hunt
Christian (12) and James (10) Broadus tagged these 2 nice toms on the second day of their turkey hunt. We started out Friday morning and spent the day trying to locate a tom without any success.
