Virginia Dept. of Game and Inland Fisheries

Posted on: 09/10/08 [Comments?]

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF) Hunting and Trapping regulation review and amendment process for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 Hunting and Trapping seasons commence in September 2008 with a series of regulatory issue meetings throughout the state to discuss hunting and trapping issues and solicit the views of the public. The locations of the regulatory issue meetings are posted on the department's website at www.huntfishva.com.

The Board of Game and Inland Fisheries plans to conduct meetings in October 2008, February 2009, and June 2009 to consider the issues, receive public comments, hear staff recommendations, propose amendments, and take final action on regulations. A public discussion period will be afforded following the October board meeting from November through December for public comment on hunting and trapping regulatory issues and a public comment period following the February board meeting from March to mid-May for public comments on Board proposed regulation changes. Amendments to any regulations would be effective August 1, 2009. For more information on the Hunting and Trapping Regulation Review Process go to www.huntfishva.com and click on "Board Meetings and Other Public Meetings" on the right-hand side of the page.

Central Kansas Buck
This Central Kansas Buck was shot on opening weekend with my father, Tom Williams near Tescott, Kansas. I walked approximately ΒΌ mile to get into position, in water way, at the end of a wheat field. My father went to the top of the wheat field to get into position at the other end, 1/2 section of grass and wheat fields. Deer must have noticed my father during the time he was getting into position.
