Vermont Moose Hunters Must Wait Three Years
Vermont Fish and Wildlife Dept.

Posted on: 07/18/08 [Comments?]

The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department announced a clarification in its moose hunting regulation for 2008.

The Fish & Wildlife Board passed a regulation prohibiting anyone who has held a Vermont moose hunting permit in any of the previous three years from applying for a permit or bonus point in the current year. This now includes people who held a Vermont moose hunting permit they obtained in Vermont's moose permit auction.

Vermont's fourth annual auction for moose hunting permits is open for bids until July 28. Five permits will be auctioned. Proceeds from the moose hunting permit auction will help fund Fish and Wildlife educational programs.

To receive a 2008 Moose permit bid kit, contact the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, 103 South Main Street, Waterbury, VT 05651-0501. Telephone 802-241-3700 or email fwinformation@state.vt.us.

Archery Hunt in August's Sweltering Heat
As the mercury steadily rose outside it was easily 10 degrees higher in the blind, I was tucked in awaiting the arrival of thirsty antelope. The hotter it got the more uncomfortable it became inside the blind which now was turning out to be a sweat box. I'm not really sure, but while inside that 70x70x90 sweat box a buddy of mine texted me telling me it was 92 degrees out. Not sure but I don't really think he was simply informing me of the fact more so than getting a little enjoyment out of the misery I'd intentionally placed myself in.
