Tennessee Special Permits Printed With Error
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency

Posted on: 10/10/07 [Comments?]

The Special Season deer and turkey hunt permits have been mailed to successful applicants, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA).

The special season antlerless deer permits were inadvertently printed with "shotgun-only". Antlerless quota deer permits (hunt codes 1 – 61) allow gun/muzzleloader/archery. The quota fall turkey permits (hunt codes 62-127) allow shotgun/archery.

Leftover permits will go on sale Monday, October 29, 2007, at 8:00 Central Time. Permits can be obtained at any TWRA license agent or online. Be sure to retain your receipt, as the receipt serves as your permit. No permits will be mailed for leftover permit sales. Hunters are allowed to obtain up to five (5) permits for a single county and no more than fifteen (15) permits total.

Three Hour Archery Antelope Hunt
Another scorching hot August day found myself again in a blind attempting to ambush an antelope wandering in for a drink. There were a few differences this year from years past, that being there had been quite a few rain showers just prior to the August 15th opener, filling up all the ponds.
