Innovative Probation Order Used to Rehabilitate Poacher 04/12/06
A Rosetown resident was recently convicted of three charges under The Wildlife
Act (Saskatchewan) in Provincial Court in Rosetown and fined a total of
$5,000. The court also suspended the habitual offender's hunting privileges
for three years and issued an innovative probation order to encourage the

Seven Quebec Deer Hunters Fined $7,230 12/16/05
Seven Quebec hunters were recently convicted of 13 Saskatchewan Wildlife Act
violations and fined a total of $7,230 for over-limit hunting and illegally
tagging big game animals with Manitoba hunting licence tags. [Comments?]
Extra Saskatoon Hunting Licences Available 12/08/05
Seven hundred Big Game Management Licences are available to people who would
like to hunt anterless mule deer and white-tailed deer in the Saskatoon
Wildlife Management Zone. The offer is part of a plan to reduce and more

Seven U.S. residents - four from Arizona, two from Kentucky and one from
California - were recently convicted of 28 violations under The Wildlife Act
and fined a total of $18,926 for illegal bird hunting-related activities in

Saskatchewan Environment is offering approximately 500 Big Game Management Licences to people who would like to hunt antlerless white-tailed deer in southeast Saskatchewan. Antlerless deer are does or young animals born this past spring. [Comments?]
Wildlife Trafficker Fined $41,000 10/19/05
A Yorkton-area resident has recently been convicted of 29 wildlife-related
offences, including 15 for trafficking in wildlife, and fined a total of
$41,000 at provincial court in Esterhazy. The offender was also given a
two-year sentence in a federal penitentiary and had his hunting and fishing
privileges suspended for five years. [Comments?]
A Bad Night in Yellowstone It is odd that I would be here, in this hospital bed, writing this story. Odder yet, that I am alive yet to tell it. But if I do not, it won't get told. Camping: it is something I usually enjoy very much, but this night, as many others, I was in enough pain to make it look less than attractive.
