	Barren-ground Caribou Survey Results Released 10/06/05 Results from a July 2005 survey show a decline in populations of the Cape Bathurst, Bluenose West and Bluenose East caribou herds. 	Permit Required to Import Canadian Hunter-Harvested Game Meat 08/08/03 Hunters can immediately begin bringing wild ruminant meat products intended for their personal use into the United States, but will need a “Veterinary Services Special Permit for the Importation of Hunter-Harvested Wild Ruminant Meat,” along with one of the following: a valid Canadian export certificate for game meat, or a copy of a valid hunting license or a valid hunting tag. 	Safety in Grizzly and Black Bear Country 11/10/01 The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) has produced an on-line brochure discussing the steps you should take when hunting or packing in areas with known bear populations. The site also discusses bear nature and habits along with information on how to act when confronted with a bear.
