Wildlife Commission Schedules Free Bowhunting Course 07/27/04
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission will hold a free bowhunting safety and education course at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia on Aug. 28 at 9:30 a.m. The course, which is part of the International Bowhunter Education Program, certifies archers to bowhunt where archery certification is required in the United States and Canada. Spring Wild Turkey Harvest Decline 06/08/04
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission announced that the reported harvest from the spring wild turkey season dropped about 10 percent this year due, in part, to poor reproduction by wild turkeys in 2003. Changes in the reporting system for turkey harvests also may have affected the reporting rate, according to Mike Seamster, the Wildlife Commission’s upland game bird biologist. [Comments?]
