North Carolina WRC Offers Hunting Heritage Workshop
North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission

Posted on: 07/14/08 [Comments?]

A hunting heritage workshop at the Centennial Campus Center for Wildlife Education will take a look at the popular and important outdoor recreation.

The three-hour interactive course on Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. is designed for both educators and other adults who are interested in the history, traditions and ethics of hunting, as well as hunters' vital role in wildlife conservation. Hunting scenarios will be encountered indoors with the help of a laser shot simulator.

Pre-registration is required and class size is limited to 15. Environmental Education Certification credit is available. This workshop should not be confused with the statewide Hunter Education course, which is required for first-time hunting licenses.

The Centennial Campus Center for Wildlife Education is located at 1751 Varsity Drive, Raleigh in the headquarters of the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission on the Centennial Campus of N.C. State University. For more information, visit http://www.ncwildlife.org or call (919) 707-0209.

9 Pt. Indiana Archery Buck
On Wednesday 10/22/08 I was late getting into the woods at about 5:45 pm. I did not use a treestand. I found a couple nice rubs and decided to stand in front of a big oak tree that was on the edge of a hill. I decided to do the fawn bleet call as I had used that a couple days prior and called in several does and a button buck. It was windy so when the wind would stop I would get a chance to use the call.
